Our Chuck Waggin’ Pet Meals Program, which works in cooperation with Meals-on-Wheels offers free pet food for the dogs and cats of elderly or disabled people living in Riverside County. Chuck Waggin’ helps keep people and their companion pets together by removing logistical and financial obstacles to ensure that clients will always be able to provide nutritious meals for their beloved pets. For many homebound individuals, a dog or cat is more than a pet; it can provide friendship, joy, and a reason for living. Studies show that animal ownership also lowers illness levels and mortality rates.
The Chuck Waggin’ Program, began in November 2009 and is one of only several like it in the United States. If you are involved in an organization, civic group or church that assists homebound or elderly individuals and would like to be a part of the Chuck Waggin’ Pet Meals Program please contact our Volunteer Services Coordinator at 951-688-4340 extension 310.
