Time to Find Forever Homes

Now that the kittens have reached ten weeks of age it's time for spay/neuter surgery. After a brief recovery period they will be ready to find their forever homes. And don't forget about mama Addison she will need one too! We're grateful to our Foster Parents who offer their homes and hearts to ensure that underage puppies and kittens have the best chance at a long and healthy life.

Socialization Skills Continue

Socialization Skills Continue

It's week nine and socialization skills continue, and there is no doubt that these are lively, active, kittens who will grow up all too soon to be adult cats. They can run, pounce, and leap, and can entertain themselves and foster parent observers endlessly. Growing up is hard work!

Kittens are now following mama Addison's lead in socializing with humans and are finding favorite toys and places to explore. Dalton is one of the most playful of the litter and loves turbo ball chasers.

Personalities Begin to Blossom

Kittens are now seven weeks old, my how time flies.  Their health is being monitored by their foster mom who recently brought them to the Center to be weighed.  Along with growing their personalities are beginning to blossom with each of them become their own “purr-son”.  The kittens have also learned that affection is a good thing and are becoming more responsive to it and have moved into what is called the Exploration Stage of Growth.  Learn more about kittens and how they develop.

Five D's

Now that we know that we have three girls and two boys, it was time to name the clowder (litter of kittens).  Their foster mom decided on Dalton, Darcy, Demi, Derrick, Danica and can't wait to see their personalities bloom.

Addison gave birth to five healthy kittens and is being a very good mama.  Now what to name them?

Fostering really does save lives!

Got a new mama for our Watch Us Grow.

Found homeless and pregnant by a  Good Samaritan, Addison relinquished to the Pet Adoption Center.   She is currently residing in comfort with foster parents while she awaits the arrival of her kittens.  How many do you think will arrive?  Our bets are on at least three.

The litter is gearing up for the spays, neuters, and adoptions!  In the meantime, it is non-stop playtime for the puppies.  Cria has a favorite teddy that she loves to carry around wherever she goes.

Favorite Meal

The puppies have all grown their baby teeth, and love to eat softened kibble and canned food... but their favorite meal is still Mama!

Gosling

It turns out that lil’ Gosling is the cuddler of the group, and somewhat of a mama's boy.  He loves to roll over into the perfect position for a tummy rub!

Fawn

Born in a woodpile, Fawn began life on her own and before her first birthday, she became pregnant. A Good Samaritan found her and brought her to the Pet Adoption Center where she now resides in our Tiny Paws Nursery. We'll care for Fawn and help her through the birthing process.

The puppies are horrified!!!

The puppies are horrified!!!

In these warm months, it is important to guard pets against fleas and ticks. Our Watch Us Grow litter got to experience bath time this week to ward off any varmints they may be causing them to itch and scratch. Just like human babies, puppies have sensitive skin, so they were bathed using dish soap instead of dog shampoo.
