Curriculum by College of Veterinary Medicine, Michigan State University, and the ASPCA. Two-year certification awarded to successful participants (must attend the entire class and pass a short quiz).
Course will be taught by Cindy Tait, a nationally certified Pet First Aid instructor and a paramedic and trauma flight nurse for 30 years.
Skills include urgent care for:
- safely restraining an injured pet
- airway obstruction and CPR
- shock and bleeding
- poisoning and overdose
- allergic reaction
- snake, insect and spider bites
- broken bones
- electric shock
- eye and ear injuries
